Ms. Alex Lopez
Dance Instructor
Alexandra (Alex) Lopez started dancing at the age of four in Miami, Florida. She started out as a flamenco dancer and quickly found her love for classical ballet at the age of six. After moving to Northern Virginia in 2013, she began training at Classical Ballet Theatre and continued dancing there until age eighteen. While at CBT, she trained in classical ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz.
After graduating high school, she attended the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where she graduated with a B.M. in Musical Theatre (Class of 2024). While at CUA, she trained in tap, ballet, jazz, and modern. She will be pursuing a Masters of Science in Business beginning in the fall of 2024.
Alex began teaching in high school when she co-choreographed her school’s production of Mamma Mia!. From there, she has choreographed productions of A Christmas Carol, Frozen Jr., the Wedding Singer, and more. In the summer of 2023, she began teaching jazz, tap, ballet, and musical theatre dance at Bella Ballerina Leesburg. She has been teaching dance ever since and hopes that she can continue to pass on her love for dance to the next generation!
