2025 Performance Information
This page is for parents of La Zooz students to have all the information pertinent to the performance, all in one place.

Costume Information

If your daughter did not have the right shell or skirt or shoes for dress rehearsal, thats okay, but YOU MUST MAKE SURE SHE HAS THE CORRECT ONE BY THE PERFORMANCE. Please borrow what she needs. I know you feel like it doesn't make such a difference, and its only 3 minutes, but it very much does when she is on stage. Please reach out if you are unsure about what she needs.

Notes about specific accessories:
-
Shells are tight-fitting, crew-neck shirts, and should be three-quarter sleeve.
-
Black skirts should be A-line with no pleats or designs, knee length
-
Acro classes should wear footless tights or leggings and be barefoot (please send with shoes to protect their feet at the theater.
-
Tights for Tumble and Twirl classes can be pink or white.
-
If it lists something as “optional”, that is the parent’s choice whether or not they wish to have their child wear an additional layer, based on their comfort level. If it is not listed as optional, then it is MANDATORY because it is very noticeable from stage that it is missing.

Performance Information
-
The performance is on Sunday June 15th, 2025 at Blake High School's Auditorium,300 Norwood Road. Silver Spring MD 20905

Arrival Times:
-
Students in the following classes MUST arrive by 9:30am for additional technical rehearsal: Choir, Pointe, Pre-Pointe, Ballet 4, Ballet 5, and Ballet 6 and Jazz 4.
-
There is an optional warm-up on stage wtih Ms. Emily at 9am-9:30am for students in those classes. They do not have to be in costume. If they are doing the warmup they must come at 9am, no joining late.
-
Students who are not in the above classes are due at the theater at 10:30am in costume with their hair and makeup done and headpiece in. Because we are further out this year we want you to not have to make multiple trips, however it is IMPERATIVE your daughters are on time so we can have an on time start to the program. They should come to Door #35, the stage door, which is 3 doors down from the Auditorium Doors that you will enter into.
-
Doors will open to the theater at 10:45am.
-
Your daughter should bring a water bottle and her ballet shoes and some quiet book or activity to do if she has some waiting time backstage. Mad libs, card gamess, a book, word search, etc.

Hair and Make-Up
All girls should come to the theater with their hair and makeup already done. Although makeup is helpful and recommended for stage lighting, we leave that decision up to each individual family. Ms. Emily made a video on how to do ballet buns HERE. Some of our oldest students have offered to do ballet buns at the theater for a nominal fee. Please reach out to Bella Kotek if you are interested in this service, at isabellakotek@gmail.com. After seeing dress rehearsal, all students MUST have their hair in a ballet bun. Anything else reads as messy from stage. The only exceptions are for Ballet 4, Teen Contemp and Ballet 6.

Costume Return
There will be the opportunity to return costumes, tights and headpieces at the theater. If they are not returned at the theater, THEY MUST BE RETURNED TO THE LA ZOOZ PORCH WITHIN 24 HOURS OF SUNDAYS PERFORMANCE
Show Order
This is published here so students in multiple things can figure out what they are wearing to the theater versus what costume they are bringing with them.
