2026 Performance Information for La Zooz Students
This page is for parents of La Zooz students to have all the information pertinent to the performance, all in one place.
Dear Parents and Dancers
We had a WONDERFUL dress rehearsal yesterday! Thank you to all you dance moms who made it happen, multiple carpools and figuring out time blocks and all those intricately moving pieces and costumes and hair and shells and tights. You are all incredibly dedicated and I couldn't be more grateful to partner with you in bringing this opportunity to your daughters!.
This is all important information for you for Sunday. It will also be posted on the Whatsapp groups and on the website under 2026 Performance Information.
Costumes
Everyone MUST have all the correct color pieces/undergarments and shoes for their class. I know it feels like it's only 3 minutes and why does it matter but it truly takes away from the entire piece/class if one person is looking different, even subtly. Thank you for your understanding and attention to these details.
There are a couple costume notes for particular classes. Those will get sent out to individual classes.
Ads for the Program Book
Your daughters have worked extremely hard this year, coming to class week after week, pushing themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of. Recognize that effort and celebrate it with an ad in our program book this year! Limited space available, please email me if you would like to reserve space. Quarter page $25, Half page $50, full page $100.
Performance Tickets are now on Sale!
Go now to www.lazoozdance.com to purchase tickets to the performance. Your daughter in the show does not need a ticket. There are no lap children, and no boys of any age. Please no babies that will disrupt the performance. Heads up, there will be snacks/concessions this year, since our show coincides with lunchtime. Show time is approximately 2.5-3 hours
Performance Day Schedule
10-10:30am: Optional Warm-up on stage with Ms. Emily for dancers in Jazz 2, Jazz 3, Ballet 3-7, Teen and Adult Contemp
10:30: Tech Additional Pieces (those pieces will be informed)
10:45am: Arrival for all dancers with hair and makeup and in costume (except for T&T Pre-k and 3s) to Tech Finale.
11:30am: Arrival for T&T pre-K and 3s
12pm: Performance
They can come in the regular auditorium doors (where they got dropped off for Dress Rehearsal) and come into the auditorium quietly.
T&T Pre-K and 3s: when they come into the lobby of the auditorium, they can find the volunteers wearing the La Zooz shirts who will bring them backstage. Please make sure they have nothing with them since they'll be coming straight to you after dancing.
Note: The only students who are exempt from Finale rehearsal are those who have previously reached out to me for a conflict with a graduation.
*Clarification: Graduation exemption from Finale rehearsal at 10:45am: this pertained to people who have a Kindergarten graduate in KB. 6th grade graduation is not until 4:30 and we will be long done by anywhere close to that iyH. The show is approximately 2.5-3 hours. Everyone should arrive at 10:45am (unless you are T&T preK or 3s or have told me your child is at a graduation ceremony, or in the list below)
-The following classes need to come at 10:30am for an extra tech rehearsal:
Jazz 1: Happy Birthday
Pre-pointe: Enigmatic
In Motion: Adult Contemporary
Hope: Ballet 7
Ballet 4: I've Never Been There
Your daughter should bring a water bottle and her dance shoes. There may be some waiting time backstage this year; she should also bring some quiet book or activity to do. Mad libs, card games, a book, word search, etc.
Hair and Make-Up
All girls should come to the theater with their hair and makeup already done. Many girls came to the theater with their hair not done at all yesterday. That cannot happen on Sunday. They must have their hair done at home. Although makeup is helpful and recommended for stage lighting, we leave that decision up to each individual family. Ms. Emily made a video on how to do ballet buns HERE.
Costume Return
There will be the opportunity to return costumes, tights and headpieces at the theater. When you return them you must also sign in that you have returned them! If they are not returned at the theater, THEY MUST BE RETURNED TO THE LA ZOOZ PORCH WITHIN 24 HOURS OF SUNDAYS PERFORMANCE
Performance Order
This is published here so students in multiple numbers can figure out what they are wearing to the theater versus what costume they are bringing with them. It is not for you to tell people they don't need to come until the second half to see their kid.

Pre-Show Schedule
Costumes
Please take note of what your daughter will need for the performance this year and make sure she has it all in time for dress rehearsal! Please be in touch with any questions
Notes about specific accessories:
-
Shells are tight-fitting, crew-neck shirts, and should be three-quarter sleeve below the elbow.
-
Black skirts should be A-line with no pleats or designs, knee length
-
Acro classes should wear footless tights or leggings and be barefoot (please send with shoes to protect their feet at the theater.
-
Tights for Tumble and Twirl classes can be pink or white.
-
If it lists something as “optional”, that is the parent’s choice whether or not they wish to have their child wear an additional layer, based on their comfort level because of the opacity of the skirt they are wearing as a costume.

Hair and Makeup
At dress rehearsal, its important your daughters look like they are ready for the stage. All girls should come to the theater with their hair and makeup already done and in costume. Hair should be pulled up in a ballet bun midhead and all flyaways secured with gel or hairspray. Although makeup is helpful and recommended for stage lighting, we leave that decision up to each individual family. Ms. Emily made a video on how to do ballet buns HERE. Exceptions for hair are: Ballet 3 (high bun), Ponytails for Acro classes, Hip Hop, Teen Contemporary, Jazz 1, Jazz 3 (ponytail braid),
