Maura O'Reilly

Maura O'Reilly is a proud resident of Washington, DC. She started performing at the age of 6 in a community theatre production in Arlington, VA, and grew up singing, dancing, and acting whenever she could. She followed her love of theatre and dance to Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Theatre. At Muhlenberg, Maura performed and choreographed in multiple dance concerts and took classes in ballet, jazz, modern, dance composition, dance history, anatomy & kinesiology, technical theatre, and more. Her studies also took her to Glasgow, Scotland, where she studied Contemporary Performance and worked in partnership with elementary school students and adults in hospice care to co-create interdisciplinary performance pieces based on identity and lived experience.

 

Since graduating from Muhlenberg, Maura has worked in arts administration in the DC area, including at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, Imagination Stage, The American Pops, The National Philharmonic Orchestra, The Kennedy Center, and more. She proudly serves on the Board of Trustees of the Educational Theatre Company in Arlington, Virginia and in her spare time is an avid fiber artist - you can often find her with a set of knitting needles and a ball of yarn in her bag. Maura is excited to be back in the dance studio as a member of the La Zooz team!
