Class Descriptions: Fall 2022
Preschool Dance Classes:
Tumble and Twirl (Ms. Meira Yaffa Arzouan): Join us for a playful and exciting beginner’s dance and gymnastics class. There will be both basic ballet skills and safe intro to gymnastics stretches and exercises. Part dance, part tumbling, and loads of fun.
Jazz Classes
Jazz I, II and III (Ms. Meira Yaffa Arzouan-Sundays and Ms. Gabriella Giegerich- Thursdays): Get ready to move and groove to the latest Jewish hits in these fun, upbeat classes. Classes include a fun cardio warm up, isolations, stretch and strengthening exercises, across the floor progressions, and choreography combinations
Ballet Classes
Ballet I (Ms. Emily Lucas): Ballet I introduces a traditional ballet class structure. Students learn fundamental ballet technique through barre work, center exercises, and across the floor combinations designed to improve coordination, flexibility, endurance, and musicality.
Ballet II (Ms. Emily Lucas): Ballet II is geared for students who have completed Ballet I or have the equivalent experience in Ballet technique.
Ballet III (Ms. Emily Lucas): Ballet III is for students who have completed 1-2 years of ballet study and/or were placed in Ballet II last year.
Ballet IV (Ms. Emily Lucas): Ballet IV is for students who have completed 2-3 years of ballet study and/or were placed in Ballet III last year.
Pre-pointe/pointe (Ms. Emily Lucas): This class is for students who have demonstrated competency in ballet technique and dedication in working towards strengthening their feet to be able to go on pointe. Must have permission to enroll and must be co-concurrently enrolled in a technique ballet class.
Taekwondo Classes
Taekwondo (Mrs. Ahuvyah and Mr. Eri Kjeldergaard): This traditional Korean Martial Art provides a fun and progress-oriented experience that will instill a positive attitude, build confidence and self-esteem, develop character, promote the desire to learn, improve motivation and concentration and teach self-discipline and respect. Classes will start as white belts and work on the sequencing and testing, working towards earning their orange belt and beyond.
Junior Choir and Senior Choir
Choir (Ms. Sarah Slater): In this Winter/Spring session of Choir, Ms. Sarah Slater will direct two girls choir for girls in grades 2-3 and grades 4-7. Girls will be working on several songs, developing it musically and eventually choreographically. They working towards our end-of-year performance for Women only on Sunday June 11th.
Gymnastics*
Beginner Gymnastics (Mrs. Ashley Sragg): For girls ages 6-10 (4:30 class) and 7-11 (5:30 class) who do not yet have a front roll or a cartwheel. In this beginner gymnastics class we will work on stretching and strengthening our bodies, and work on fundamental gymnastics skills like rolls, handstands, coordination and balance exercises, etc.
Advanced Beginner Gymnastics (Mrs. Ashley Sragg): For girls ages 7-12 (6:30 class) and 11-18 (7:30 class) who have a strong front roll and cartwheel. In this advanced beginner gymnastics class we will work on stretching and strengthening our bodies, and work beyond our fundamental gymnastics skills to work on handstands, back and front walkovers, round-offs, coordination and balance exercises, etc.
Intermediate Gymnastics (Mrs. Channah Cohen): By invitation only
